Where Are You?

A request for submissions in the time of Coronavirus.

I’m asking you to send me tape. Record a voice memo on your phone of what you’re up to.

You can talk about anything but here are some things you might consider including:

Describe in detail the room you’re in.

How are you holding up?

What scares you?

What are you looking forward to?

How did you end up in Olympia or how are you connected to Olympia?

What are you working on?

Are you lonely?

Is your family driving you crazy?

How has work changed for you?

Describe a recent interaction with a stranger/with a loved one.

Have you kicked any habits, started new ones?

I’m also really interested in the ambient sound around you. Maybe you’re gardening or fixing your car or making dinner or going on a hike or practicing your instrument or brushing your teeth. Record it.

The recordings don’t have to be high quaiity. Your cell phone will do nicely. Try to keep them under 10 mins.

If you really, really want to remain anonymous that’s fine.
